8 Do's to Upgrade Recruiting and On-Boarding
By Catherine Eberlein Pfister
In today's business landscape, there is an increasing connection between a company's financial performance and its overall ability to recruit, engage and retain its employees.
This issue of Premium Incentive Products looks at employee recruiting and on-boarding, as the 'front lines' of engagement. In coming months we'll look at other employee engagement business strategies, including how to motivate a multigenerational workforce, and what a global workforce means to incentive development and management.
PART 2 IN A SERIES The Front Lines of Employee Engagement 8 Do's to Upgrade Recruiting and On-Boarding
The issue of what constitutes high-caliber recruiting, on-boarding and orientation for new employees brings to mind a story posted on a recruiting industry blog, about a Soul that went to Hell:
When the Soul arrived, it found that Hell was a beautiful place, and the Devil was dressed in a flowing white gown.
The Devil asked the Soul, "Would you like to stay?" To which the Soul replied, "This is a beautiful place, not at all what I expected. Yes, I'll stay."
Suddenly, the beautiful place became one of suffering, cold and darkness.
The Soul cried out, "What happened? This was such a beautiful place, and now it's horrifying!"
The Devil replied, "The interview is over. Now you're staff. Welcome."
